MATE Desktop Environment is now (when I wrote this) reached version 1.4. But it still lands with one incompatibility issue with the Ubuntu's Ambiance theme. Yes, we still can't use the original Ambiance theme in MATE and so I felt called to arrange an Ambiance theme specialized for the MATE Desktop.
Originally, I just use a theme created for the LXDE and XFCE called Ambiance & Radiance For Xfce & LXDE from this gnome-look. What I did was just created the index.theme and now I can see the most elegant theme in Linux in my MATE Desktop.
Download
ambiance-mate_12.04_all.deb
Installation
- Execute the deb by terminal :
sudo dpkg -i *.deb - Open preferences by right clicking at MATE Desktop
- Select Ambiance MATE
- Done
This theme looks better with Faenza-Icon-Theme.
