Adobe Reader 9 Linux

Adobe Reader adalah aplikasi PDF reader yang sangat terkenal di Windows. Kelengkapan toolbar dan interface yang mudah dioperasikan menyebabkan aplikasi ini cukup disenangi, walaupun faktor utama keterkenalan Adobe reader adalah karena usianya yang sudah dewasa bila di banding aplikasi sejenis yang lain.

Untuk desktop Linux, Adobe pun membuat versi Adobe Readernya sendiri. Jika pada versi terdahulu, Adobe Reader Linux tersedia dalam binari instalasi distribusi besar (RPM, Debian), maka pada versi Adobe Reader 9, paket installer-nya bersifat universal, yaitu .bin.

Satu yang spesial dari Adobe Reader 9 Linux adalah, ternyata aplikasi ini bersifat ringan saat di jalankan di desktop Linux. Ini sangat mengejutkan untuk saya. Karena cepatnya, bahkan Adobe Reader 9 Linux lebih cepat dalam waktu loading dibanding aplikasi PDF reader default desktop Linux yaitu Evince dan KPDF.

Untuk menginstalasinya, tentu sangat mudah. Pertama tentu saja download dulu paket binari instalasi Adobe Reader dari situsnya. Setelah itu eksekusi binari installer yang berekstensi .bin :

$ sudo ./AdbeRdr9.1.0-1_i486linux_enu.bin

$ su :

# ./AdbeRdr9.1.0-1_i486linux_enu.bin

Sangat menarik ! Selamat ber-Linux ! :D

baru sadar, soalnya dah lama ga pake adobe reader
patut dicoba nih, apa lebih ringan atau ga?

Download, Install and Play Angry Birds Rio In Ubuntu/Debian Linux

Angry Birds Rio is a spin-off of the new-legendary game Angry Birds. This plot is specially taken from popular animation film Rio, an adventure of a pet Blue macaw bird from US in Brazilian jungle. Based on that successful film, there are some game developers created a spin-off for Angry Birds game called Angry Birds Rio. The good news about this is, there is already a flash version of this game so we could play it in Linux desktop easily using flashplayer (standalone player, or by Internet Browser with flashplayer plugin).
